HVAC issues. What are you gonna do?

Alex Harb had planned to open his fancy new Meddys at 2300 N. Greenwich on Tuesday (Sept. 27) and even had posted a big sign on the restaurant saying so.

But his heating and air conditioning system won’t be ready, so he has to push the date back to Oct. 4 – exactly one Tuesday later.

The new Meddys will have the same Mediterranean and Lebanese-inspired menu as the original, which opened at 7906 E. Harry in September 2014, but it will have several upgrades. The interior will be more sophisticated, he said, and food will be served on real plates, not the paper plates he uses now. He’ll also add beer and wine to his list of offerings.

It will have curbside-to-go service, and he’ll soon have a phone app where customers can place orders, buy gift cards and more. Once the new Meddys is up and running, Harb said, he plans to remodel the original to match it. He hopes to have that project done by the end of January.
