Kansas State Fair announces its first 2016 Grandstand acts

Kansas State Fair officials announced their first round of 2016 Grandstand acts on Tuesday, and they include Lynryd Skynyrd, Jake Owen and Suzy Bogguss.

The fair is scheduled for Sept. 9 through 18 on the Kansas State Fair grounds in Hutchinson. Grandstand tickets go on sale on May 6.

The acts are:

▪ Lynyrd Skynyrd, a classic rock band known for the hit “Sweet Home Alabama,” will perform on Sept. 16. Tickets are $50, $65 and $90.

▪ Jake Owen, a country singer with five No. 1 hits to his name, including “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” and “Alone with You,” will perform with opening act Old Dominion on Sept. 17. Tickets are $35, $45 and $75.

▪  Hit Makers Reunion: This concert will feature several well-known classic country acts, including Restless Heart, Richie McDonald of Lonestar, songstress Suzy Bogguss and country singer Billy Dean. The concert is on Sept. 13, and tickets are $34.

Tickets will go on sale at 8 a.m. May 6 at the Kansas State Fair Ticket Office, by calling 800-362-3247 or at www.kansasstatefair.tix.com. Grandstand tickets include gate admission when purchased through Aug. 20.

More concerts will be announced in the future.
