You just never know with Christmas albums.

They could be beautiful, moving collections of holiday classics that transport you back to a simpler time. Or they could be quickly recorded piles of slop rushed out so artists can make a holiday buck. It’s hard to know which it’ll be until your money is spent.

To save you some money and eardrum agony this holiday season, we’ve listened to and reviewed many of the holiday albums that were released this year.

It’s an overall quality lineup of songs in genres including jazz, country, pop, R&B, classical, Christian that will fill your season with song – or not.
