Garth Brooks on Friday added four shows to his tour stop at Intrust Bank Arena in December and sold 65,000 tickets in less than an hour, his publicist said.

Brooks sold 51,264 tickets for his last appearance in Wichita, when he sold out five shows at the Kansas Coliseum in November 1997.

Tickets were still being sold Friday for all six shows in December, but customers did not necessarily have access to all shows at one time on the website www.tickets.com/garth. That’s because the best tickets were being sold first, said publicist Leigh Ann Pigue.

Shows that were added Friday: a Thursday night show Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m., a second show on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 10:30 p.m., and two Sunday shows Dec. 6, at 3 and 7:30 p.m. The new shows were announced shortly after tickets went on sale Friday for the originally announced two shows — 7 p.m. Dec. 4 and 7 p.m. Dec. 5.

Brooks’ wife, Trisha Yearwood, will be performing as well.

Tickets are $74.98 with fees, and are available at www.tickets.com/garth or by phone at 800-228-6622. There is a limit of eight tickets.
