Share the Season: Struggling woman needs help with car insurance
Share the Season is an annual campaign that offers one-time aid to people affected by unforeseen hardships. The people are not identified to protect their privacy.
Taking care of sick children meant a 27-year-old Wichita woman was not able to work for more than a week.
As a result, her already-stretched paycheck was far less than usual.
Her husband, after being laid off in September, has started a new job but is making $2 less per hour than previously.
Money is tight around her house, as “everything is on payment arrangements and we barely have enough money to feed our kids each week.”
She sought help from Share the Season to be able to afford car insurance.
“Because of all this happening, we haven’t even had the money to put insurance on either vehicle,” she said. “A gift ... could help us from losing anything such as our car.”
Share the Season is a joint project of The Eagle, the Wichita Community Foundation and the Salvation Army.
So far this season, it has raised $185,655.
