Botanica’s Illuminations to be discounted after Christmas; Lights on St. Paul to have extended holiday hours

Adults will be able to pay children’s prices at Botanica’s holiday lights event, Illuminations, after Christmas if they bring two canned goods for the needy.

The gardens will be bright with Christmas lights through Dec. 31 (with the exception of Christmas Eve and Christmas). Adults pay $8 until Dec. 26, when they can get in for $6 with the donations for the Kansas Food Bank. The $6 price applies to ages 3 to 12.

Hours for Illuminations are 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The gardens will be closed Jan. 1-4.

The Arc’s Lights on St Paul will have extended hours on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Enter at the intersection of Douglas and St. Paul beginning at 5:30 nightly through Dec. 28. The lights will be on until 11:30 p.m. Christmas Eve and until 10 p.m. Christmas Day. Otherwise, the closing time is at 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

A donation of $5 or more is requested per vehicle as a benefit for the Arc of Sedgwick County. It provides services for more than 3,700 people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
