Share the Season: Mother falls behind on bills after health problems
Share the Season is an annual campaign that offers one-time aid to people affected by unforeseen hardships. The people are not identified to protect their privacy.
It was one health problem after another that caused the 37-year-old mother of two to fall behind in her bills.
She injured her back in a fall, then had gallbladder surgery and dental work.
Her landlord gave her a 30-day notice to vacate.
And the motor went out in her car.
“What put me in this bind was I became physically ill about a year ago,” the woman wrote on her application to Share the Season. “I make three hundred dollars less than I use to make. I’m ready to work full time again. But currently at my job, there are no full time positions available at the moment.”
She remains hopeful there will be an opening.
But for now, she said, she needed a little help.
Share the Season was able to help pay some of her utilities.
“It was a blessing,” the woman said.
