Mom behind on medical bills gets help from Share the Season
Share the Season is an annual campaign that offers one-time aid to people affected by unforeseen hardships. The people are not identified to protect their privacy.
For this single mother, whose birthday is during the holiday season, assistance from Share the Season was like "a birthday gift and a Christmas gift all in one."
A mother of two, she tries her best to always feed the family, but car repairs and medical expenses had set her back this year.
"I had to get new tires, and was behind on my medical bills," she said. "I needed help."
A friend told her about the Share the Season program.
Share the Season helped her with her main bills, freeing up some money and taking some of the pressure off her.
"I’m really thankful," she said. "(Their help) was excellent."
Share the Season is a joint project of The Eagle, the Wichita Community Foundation and the Salvation Army.
