The Flaming Lips are coming back to Wichita, and that leaves only one question.

Will there be more hamster-ball crowd surfing?

Popular alternative rock band The Flaming Lips will perform at 7 p.m. July 23 at Wave — part of the band’s summer tour — the venue announced Tuesday.

The Claypool Lennon Delirium will support, alongside Particle Kid.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at www.waveict.com, by phone at 316-260-5141, or in person at the box office, 650 E. 2nd Street.

They are $45 for general admission and $80 for VIP packages.

The Flaming Lips appeared as part of the Wichita Riverfest lineup in 2017, and thrilled the crowd when its lead singer surfed over it in a human-sized hamster ball. The band drew 18,000 at Riverfest.

Wave can hold 3,300 people max.

The Flaming Lips’ 15th studio album, “King’s Mouth: Music and Songs” is expected to be released on July 19, just a few days before the Wichita show.

The show is open to all ages.
