Country star Kenny Chesney is coming to Wichita next year
UPDATE: Intrust Bank Arena announced Friday that Kenny Chesney will be coming to Wichita on May 3, 2019.
Kenny Chesney, one of the first major acts to play at Intrust Bank Arena, is coming back next year.
The mega-popular country singer announced cities for his 2019 Songs of the Saints Tour this week, which included Wichita’s Intrust Bank Arena.
Intrust Bank Arena has also confirmed Chesney is returning to Wichita next year, according to Christine Pileckas, its director of booking and marketing.
Chesney was last at Wichita’s Intrust Bank Arena in 2011. He’d also performed at the Kansas Coliseum in 2003.
Chesney has said he wanted his 2019 tour to be “a little more intimate,” as he’s booked smaller venues for the upcoming tour. Last year his massive 2018 Trip Around the Sun Tour saw him perform at venues such as Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium.
