Here’s where to find Halloween parties in Wichita this year

Many Wichita bars are celebrating Halloween this weekend, given the official night of the holiday is on Wednesday.

Here’s a listing of parties planned for this weekend:

▪ “Witches and Fairies” at XY Bar, 235 N. Mosley. 10 p.m. Sat.-2 a.m. Sun. No cover. Live music by DJ Karetaker. Costume contest takes place around midnight — $100 cash prize for first-place, $50 for second-place.

▪ “Party Like a Mon-STAR” at Club Fever, 116 N. Mead. 9 p.m. Sat.-1:30 a.m. Sun. 21+. Both its Latin side and its main side will give away $300 to a costume contest winner, and $100 to the second-place finisher.

▪ All Hallows Gala at Kansas Star Casino, 777 Kansas Star Drive, Mulvane. 8 p.m. Sat.-midnight Sun. No cover. 21+. Party sponsored by iHeartRadio, featuring $10,000 in costume-contest prizes, food trucks, photo booths, drink specials and more.

▪ Togaween Party at Aero Plains Brewing, 117 N. Handley. 7 p.m. Sat.-midnight Sun. No cover. The Flying Stove will serve food from 5-8 p.m., tapping of Chocolate Tarmac Oatmeal Stout at 7 p.m., and DJ E will provide music until midnight. Costume contests throughout the night, for Aero Plains merchandise and cash prizes.

▪ Halloween Party at Headshots Bar & Grill, 2120 N. Woodlawn. 7 p.m. Sat.-2 a.m. Sun. No cover. 21+ after 7 p.m. Costume contest, drink specials and door prizes. Best-dressed couple and individual costumes win free gaming for a year at the bar.

▪ Halloween Costume Dance Party at Lava Hookah Lounge, 6160 E. 21st Street. 8 p.m. Fri.-2 a.m. Sat. 18+ to enter, 21+ to BYOB. $10 to smoke hookah all night. Costume contest at 11:30 p.m., dance contests throughout the night.

▪ “Bikers and Babes” at The Store, 3210 E. Osie. 9 p.m. Sat.-2 a.m. Sun. 21+. No cover. Live music by DJ Bowtie (Heather McGlocklin).

▪ Elbow Room Halloween Party at The Elbow Room, 1507 E. Pawnee. 9 p.m. Sat.-midnight Sun. $5, free if in costume. Metal bands Parallax, Yellow King, Blood in the Wire and The Resurrectionist will perform. Norton’s Brewing Co. is taking over taps for the night. $1 12-ounce beers if dressed as Ned Flanders.

▪ Masquerade Ball at Vorshay’s Cocktail Lounge, 417 E. Douglas. 9 p.m. Sat.-1:30 a.m. Sun. $10 at the door. Formal attire expected, along with masquerade mask — no Halloween costumes. Drink specials and homemade hot mulled wine cider.

▪ Sunshine the Bunny Halloween Bash 8 p.m., Sat. Oct. 27, Mort’s Martini and Cigar Bar, 923 E. First St. North. $2. 316-262-1785

▪ Halloween Bash at Emerson Biggin’s West, 2330 N. Maize. 9 p.m. Wed.-2 a.m. Thurs. 18+ to enter, $15 after 9 p.m. No cover for 21+. DJ starts at 10 p.m., costume contests begin at 11 p.m. Message Emerson Biggin’s West on Facebook to reserve a table.

▪ Halloween Party at Rock Island Live, 101 N. Rock Island. 9 p.m. Wed.-1:30 a.m. Thurs. 21+. $5 if not wearing a costume. Costume contests in “single,” “couple” and “group” categories, all with cash prizes. Music by DJ C-Genius.

▪ Halloween Bash at Club Rodeo, 10001 E. Kellogg. 7 p.m. Wed.-2 a.m. Thurs. 18+. Cash prizes for best costume, drink specials.
