12 fun things to do in Wichita this Saturday (May 27, 2017)

Here’s what is going on in Wichita this Saturday:

Junk in the Trunk Outdoor Flea Market

8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wichita Area Technical College, 4004 N. Webb

For the fifth year in a row, the Wichita Area Technical College is hosting an outdoor flea market on Saturday, featuring vintage items, upcycled junk, jewelry, crafts, decor and more.

Free.

Children’s Farms Festival

10 a.m.-2 p.m., Sedgwick County Zoo, 5555 Zoo Blvd.

Meet and learn about heritage breeds in the Children’s Farms, including various varieties of goats. Animal encounters at the top of the hour, generally.

Regular zoo admission applies. $15.95 for adults 12-61, $11.95 for children 3-11 and seniors 62 and older. Children 2 and under admitted free.

Pedal Pizzazz

11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wichita Art Museum, 1400 W. Museum Blvd.

To celebrate National Bike Month, the Wichita Art Museum’s monthly Family ArtVenture is bicycle-themed. Ride your bike to the museum and partake in a variety of bike-decorating activities. As always, admission is free on Saturdays.

Anniversary Saturday at the Gnome

Noon to 11:59 p.m., Hopping Gnome Brewing Company, 1710 E. Douglas

Hopping Gnome continues to celebrate its second anniversary as a brewery this Saturday, with a variety of festivities planned throughout the day. Let’m Eat Brats will be outside at noon, and at 8 p.m., Summon the Storm, an acoustic guitar/violin duo, will perform.

Steampunk Day

10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Old Cowtown Museum, 1865 W. Museum Blvd.

Steampunk fans – Cowtown is hosting its Steampunk Day this Saturday, which features ample opportunities for costume contests, beard and mustache competitions and more.

Regular admission applies. $7.75 adults ages 18-61, $6.50 seniors ages 62 and older, $6 for youth ages 12-17, $5.50 for children ages 4-11. Members and children younger than 4 admitted free.

FC Wichita Double-header

4 and 7:30 p.m., Stryker Soccer Complex, 2999 N. Greenwich

Looking for some soccer action Saturday? How about a double-header featuring the women’s and men’s teams of FC Wichita? At 4 p.m., the women’s team will play the Kansas City Courage, and at 7:30 p.m., the men’s team will take on Ozark FC.

ZZ Top

7 p.m., Hartman Arena, 8151 N. Hartman Arena Drive, Park City

Legendary rockers ZZ Top are playing at Park City’s Hartman Arena this Saturday, and there are still plenty of tickets available to catch the show. For more information, visit www.hartmanarena.com.

Wichita Force vs. Centex Cavalry

7 p.m., Intrust Bank Arena, 500 E. Waterman

Come watch some indoor football action at Intrust Bank Arena this weekend, as the Wichita Force takes on the Centex Cavalry.

Tickets start at $20.

University of Notre Dame Folk Choir

7 p.m., St. Peter the Apostle, 11000 W. Southwest Blvd.

The University of Notre Dame Folk Choir is in town for its 2017 tour, and the group is putting on a concert Saturday evening. Admission is a free-will offering. The choir has 60 singers and performs mainly liturgical music.

Wichita Wingnuts vs. Winnipeg Goldeyes

7:05 p.m., Lawrence-Dumont Stadium, 300 S. Sycamore

Check out the Wingnuts in action on Saturday against Canada’s Winnipeg Goldeyes.

South YMCA Late-Night Summer Bash

7:15 to 11:30 p.m., Richard A. DeVore South YMCA, 3405 S. Meridian

The South YMCA is inviting all high-schoolers – you don’t have be a YMCA member – to come Saturday night for a waterpark swim party, indoor bash and a four-on-four basketball tournament. The event includes a live DJ, free food, free haircuts from a local barbershop and more. High school students get in free with ID. Contact hillary.alexander@ymcawichita.com to register a four-person basketball team for the tournament.

Movie in the Alley

7:30 p.m., Gallery Alley, 616 E. Douglas

Liv+Work and J. Andrew will host Movie in the Alley, a new series of outdoor film screenings on the last Saturday of every month. This Saturday, “The Breakfast Club” will be screened. The event is free, but reservations are required and may be made on Eventbrite. Liv+Work will host an after-party with light eats and drinks at its location in Eaton Place.
