The Lizard’s Lounge, a popular live-music venue and bar near Kellogg and Greenwich, has closed.

Jason Cooper, who owned the bar with his wife, Caitlin, posted the news on Facebook last week, saying “we closed the bar so that we could get back to a normal schedule and start building our life expectancy back up.”

“We closed because it was time, not because we had to,” Cooper posted. “It would be a turn-key operation if anybody is interested.”

The dive bar at 300 S. Greenwich often played host to bands of all genres – from country to metal to rock.

According to Cooper’s post, the bar is for sale – interested parties can contact Caitlin Cooper.

And if you’re interested in a Jagermeister tap, the bar is selling one for $125.

Cooper did not reply to a request for further comment.
