Actor William Shatner to ride through Kansas on Thursday
Actor William Shatner, who played Captain Kirk on the 1960s TV series “Star Trek,” will be passing through Wichita on Thursday, as he raises money for the American Legion. He is officially stopping in Kansas City, Mo., on Wednesday and Oklahoma City on Thursday but his route will take him through Wichita on Thursday.
Shatner, 84, is driving a “Rivet” on the journey – a three-wheeled motorcycle – and will travel a total of 2,400 miles over eight days. The trip starts today, Tuesday, in Aurora, Ill., and ends in Los Angeles next Wednesday. It’s a similar journey Shatner said he made along Route 66 from high school in Montreal to college. Shatner also was on “T.J. Hooker,” “The Practice” and “Boston Legal.” More recently, he has been seen as the “Priceline Negotiator” in TV commercials.
