Paul Rudd: Royals fans actually went to mom’s house for kegger
Paul Rudd told David Letterman on Tuesday that some diehard Kansas City Royals fans actually showed up at his mom’s house after he joked about having an ALCS championship party.
“I went crazy,” he said of the postgame interview with a local TV station. “Just in the excitement, I said, ‘Kegger at my mom’s house.’
“I was completely kidding,” he said. “But people showed up.”
The problem is, his mom doesn’t live in that house anymore.
“My sister and my brother-in-law do,” the star of Marvel’s upcoming superhero movie “Ant-Man” said. “My brother-in-law was putting my nephew to sleep, and the doorbell rang and three guys showed up looking for me with bottles of wine, looking for me, looking for a party. He said, ‘No, get lost. It was a joke.’”
But that may not be the end of the story, especially if this year’s Royals finish their unfinished business from last year.
“If they do win the World Series this year, seriously, two kegs at my mom’s house,” he said.
