Author, humorist Dave Barry to visit Wichita
Dave Barry, a Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist, humorist and best-selling author, will visit Wichita in September.
Watermark Books & Cafe is bringing Barry, who will speak and sign books at 7 p.m. on Sept. 13 at Abode Venue, 1330 E. Douglas.
Barry’s new book, “Best. State. Ever.: A Florida Man Defends His Homeland,” will be published Sept. 6.
Barry, who lives in Coral Gables, Fla., wrote a nationally syndicated humor column for the Miami Herald from 1983 to 2004. His most recent best-selling books include “Live Right and Find Happiness (Although Beer is Much Faster),” “You Can Date Boys When You’re Forty,” “Insane City” and “I’ll Mature When I’m Dead.”
He currently is covering the Republican convention in Cleveland and will cover the Democratic convention later this summer.
Tickets to the reading and signing in Wichita are $33 and include a copy of “Best. State. Ever.” Another ticket option is $38 and includes the book and a ticket for one companion to attend with you.
