Art Trek, Kansas Watercolor Society exhibition, Pete McGuinness jazz

Artists at home

Several artists will be selling a variety of their works out of their houses Saturday during the the Art Trek home studio tour. Pottery, jewelry, silversmithing and vintage things will be among the items to be found from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The artists and locations: Tap Root Studio, 1144 N. Bitting; Kim Lister and Barbara Vogt (Lister Studio), 918 W. 17th St.; Chad Droegmeier and Friends, 1568 N. Charles; and Charlotte Martin, 1404 W. University.

Watercolor exhibition

From abstraction to realism, landscapes to still life, watercolors will be on display in the Kansas Watercolor Society National Exhibition opening Friday at the Wichita Center for the Arts, 9112 E Central. The opening reception will be from 5 to 7 p.m. and include light hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. People also can meet the center’s new director, Katy Dorrah, at the reception. Pete McGuinness jazz

New York jazz trombonist and vocalist Pete McGuinness will join the Friends University jazz band and jazz vocal ensemble for a concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Riney Fine Arts Center’s Sebits Auditorium. McGuinness is a Grammy-nominated composer/arranger who also has his own big band, The Pete McGuinness Jazz Orchestra (petemcguinness.com).
