Wichita Children’s Theatre makes move to Crown Uptown with Halloween tradition
Wichita Children’s Theatre and Dance is continuing its Halloween tradition of the show “Click Clack Boo,” but moving it to a new location – the Crown Uptown Theatre.
“A very important part of it is that we can have pizza shows again,” executive director Monica Flynn said of the shows, sponsored by Pizza Hut. “We haven’t been able to have those in the past few years.”
The children’s theater’s “Once Upon a Time” shows will be at the Crown, while its “Best Christmas Pageant Ever” production (Dec. 15-17) will stay at the Mary Jane Teall Theatre in Century II.
“Once Upon a Time” shows include “Toyland,” Dec. 2-4; “Junie B’s Essential Survival Guide to School,” Feb. 17-19; and “The Three Billy Goats Gruff,” April 7-9.
“Click Clack Boo” has been performed twice previously by the children’s theater.
“’Click Clack Boo’ is a great show about Farmer Brown who is scared to death about Halloween, and all of his animal friends are in the barnyard playing little tricks on him to get him not to be afraid anymore,” Flynn said. “And it’s always a happy ending with us.”
Cast members are Kyle Vespestad, Kelly Wonsetler, Madi White, Joyce Henry and Max Wilson.
