Trio of area parades set for Saturday
Summer means county fairs, which means parades.
Here are three parades on tap for Saturday:
▪ El Dorado is throwing its biggest party of the year, the Frontier Western Celebration, through Aug. 7 with concerts, runs, a horseshoe tournament and an arts and crafts fair. The parade is 10 a.m. Saturday downtown.
▪ The Harvey County Free Fair Parade will march down Main Street in Newton at 5:30 p.m. The fair, which runs through Aug. 9, includes an ATV rodeo, Demolition Derby, livestock show and a carnival, all at the fairgrounds, 800 W. 1st St. in Newton.
▪ The City of Caldwell and the Caldwell Historical Society are sponsoring a parade at 6:30 p.m. Saturday as part of the Sumner County Fair.
