One block of Douglas closed Tuesday for concert, block party

Downtowners traveling on Douglas are finding the street blocked off at St. Francis today.

The street is closed from St. Francis east to the railroad tracks in preparation for tonight’s Old Town Block Party, put on by the bar Barleycorn’s at 608 E. Douglas.

The bar is staging an outdoor concert by musical acts 311 and Matisyahu, and the city agreed to close the block for the event. A stage already is set up. The block party starts at 6:30 p.m., and the show starts at 6:45 p.m. Tickets are still available at https:/www.ticketfly.com.

The street will be reopen Wednesday morning, city officials said.
