Make art with artists at CityArts **FREE ALERT
Wichitans can create art side-by-side with some of the city’s most well-known local artists during an event at CityArts on Friday called Artless. Eight local artists, including Wade Hampton, Steve Murillo (pictured), Dustin Parker and Josh Tripoli, will interact with attendees at different stations to create pieces of art. The artists will finish the pieces, which will be on display at CityArts starting July 29.

High-flying stunt riders at Lawrence-Dumont
The mud will be flying and spectators cheering Sunday at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium as Nitro Circus makes a stop on its tour. The show, which consists of daredevils performing tricks and stunts on BMX and FMX bikes, skateboards, scooters and more, got its start in 2003 and has been traveling the world since.

Bobby Bones at Stiefel
Famous funny man and radio host Bobby Bones will appear at Salina’s Stiefel Theatre to perform his one-man show, “Bobby Bones Funny & Alone.” Aside from being a staple in country music radio, Bones performs his comedic routines to raise money for various charities, raising over $2 million to date. He was just in Wichita with the show in May. A few tickets for Salina’s show are still available.

‘1776’ at Scottish Rite
In honor of Independence Day, Wichita Scottish Rite and the Signature Theatre will again put on a production of “1776,” a musical based on the signing of the Declaration of Independence that features a singing John Adams. The performances, based off the book by Peter Stone, happen twice over the weekend and star local actors Bucky Walters, Larry Hartley, Jean Ann Cusick and Deanne Zogleman.

Trio Globo at the Barn
The next installment of Chamber Music at the Barn will feature Trio Globo, a group consisting of Howard Levy on piano and harmonica, Eugene Friesen on cello and Glen Velez on percussion, performing an original piece based on Carl Sandburg’s 1918 poem “Prairie,” backed by a string quintet. The piece also will feature female voices and a narrator.

Art for your Ears at Ulrich **FREE ALERT
Another installment of the summer concert series put on by Wichita State University’s Ulrich Museum of Art begins on Thursday. The first show of the Art for Your Ears series will feature Spencer Bohren, a New Orleans blues singer and guitarist. The museum will provide refreshments. The shows happen west of the museum on the McKnight Art Center Plaza. In case of rain, the concert will be moved inside to the WSU Campus Activities Center Theater.

Chalk Art in the park **FREE ALERT
The City of Wichita Park and Recreation Department is inviting children of Wichita ages 6 to 12 to participate in a chalk art event Saturday at Naftzger Park. Chalk will be provided, and participants can compete for prizes. All children will receive a package of chalk and an assigned sidewalk square.
