Presenters sought for this year’s Mini Maker Faire
It sounds vague and broad, and it is, so maybe it includes you:
People and groups who are makers, artists, performers or crafters are invited to participate in this year’s Wichita Mini Maker Faire on July 30 and 31 at Exploration Place.
This is the second year for the fair, where presenters show what they are making and share what they are learning in order to entertain, inform and connect people in the community.
People and groups who present their projects at the fair include technology enthusiasts, homesteaders, scientists and garage tinkerers. Commercial makers can take part for a fee.
Those who want to attend as presenters must complete a simple application by July 8. It is online at www.makerfairewichita.com.
In its first year last year, the fair drew more than 1,700 visitors to see about 50 makers presenting their projects.
Exploration Place sponsors it with MakeICT.
The fair will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 30 and noon to 5 p.m. July 31 at Exploration Place, 300 N. McLean Blvd. It’s included in Exploration Place admission or membership.
