Country singer and yodeler Suzy Bogguss will bring her unique vocal styling to the Bartlett Arboretum stage Sunday. Bogguss, from Aledo, Ill., has earned a Grammy and multiple other country music awards during her four-decade career. Bogguss is best known for hits like “Outbound Plane” and “Drive South.”

Corb Lund at Barleycorn

Country bluegrass singer and songwriter Corb Lund will take over the stage Wednesday at Barleycorn’s. Lund, who just released an album, “Things That Can’t Be Undone,” has landed on NPR Music’s “Favorite Songs of 2015” list and American Songwriter’s “Top 50 Songs of the Year.” Cyril Neville & the Royal Southern Brotherhood will open for Lund.

Ballet Wichita in the park

Ballet Wichita will celebrate the 150th anniversary of “Alice in Wonderland” this weekend with dance performances in various parks throughout the area. More than 40 dancers will be in this year’s production of Ballet in the Park, an annual event. The audience will be introduced to dancing versions of their favorite characters, including Alice, White Rabbits, Mad Hatters, nutty Queens and a misguided Jabberwocky.

Dave Chappelle at the Orpheum

Stand-up comedian, screenwriter, producer and actor Dave Chappelle will appear on Friday at the Orpheum with a stand-up set. From his two-year run with “Chapelle’s Show” to appearance on other television shows and movies, including “The Nutty Professor” and “Con Air,” Chappelle has found success in many different comedy arenas. He’s performing three shows in Wichita, but both Saturday shows are sold out. A few tickets are still available for Friday. Chappelle doesn’t allow cellphones at his show and asks that fans leave them at home or in the car. Violators will be asked to leave.

Walk with Wildlife at Great Plains Nature Center

Families will fill the trails at Chisholm Creek Park – and find those trails filled with animals – on Saturday at the 32nd annual Walk with Wildlife at the Great Plains Nature Center. The half-mile loop marked off for the event will have stations set up throughout the trail where visitors can view and learn about wildlife. The event also will include videos playing in Coleman auditorium, opportunities to take photographs with PBS’ Curious George, lunch concessions and more.

Common Threads Quilt Show

The Prairie Quilt Guild, along with other South Central Kansas area quilting guilds, will put on the Common Threads Regional Quilt Show next weekend at the Century II Expo Hall. The show will feature more than 600 quilts, demonstrations and prize opportunities throughout all three days and is designed for anyone interested in sewing and quilting.

Dorothea Benton Frank author event at Abode

Watermark Books & Cafe is bringing author Dorothea Benton Frank to Abode Venue on Tuesday for a reading and singing of her novel, “All Summer Long.” Benton Frank, a New York Times bestselling author, has authored the Lowcountry Tales Series and the “Hurricane Sisters” before releasing this novel about the search for happiness. Event attendees will receive a copy of the book with their ticket purchase.

Hot Rod show at Kansas Pavilions

The 22nd annual Hot Rod Power Tour, which covers seven cities in seven days, will make a stop Thursday at the Kansas Pavilions. The event features thousands of cars from across the world, from hot rods to muscle cars. The tour started in Baton Rouge, La., and will end in Kansas City, Mo.

Teen book festival and Barnes & Noble

The nation’s largest national teen book festival will take place from Friday through Sunday at the Barnes & Noble at Bradley Fair. Called B-Fest, the event will feature teen book authors, a story development workshop, trivia and interactive games. Events are happening at stores all over the country. Among the authors visiting Wichita include Wichita State University graduate Debra Dockter, a two-time winner of the Kansas Voices writer’s competition in short fiction. She’ll appear at noon on Saturday. Another former WSU student, illustrator Jamin Still, will appear at 4 p.m on Saturday. A complete festival schedule can be found at www.barnesandnoble.com.
