Kansas at Hutchinson’s Fox

The legendary rock band, from and named after our own state, will be displaying its chops Wednesday at Hutchinson’s Historic Fox Theatre. Kansas, the rock band whose legacy has spanned over four decades, has produced eight gold albums and a platinum live album. Fans can expect to hear classic hits like “Carry On Wayward Son” and “Dust in the Wind.”

Comedy Beer Fest at Kirby’s

Expect liquor and laughs as four comedians put on short stand-up sets Saturday at Kirby’s Beer Store. Hosted by Tim Maggard, the event will consist of stand-up comedy, drinking games and free burgers and hot dogs. The event is free and open to those 21 and up.

Purple Party at Brickyard

Prince fans will fill the Brickyard this weekend as the club hosts a Purple Party in celebration of the musician’s life. Mixamyte 1 and DJ Carbon will be spinning Prince hits all night, and guests are encouraged to wear purple in Prince’s memory.

Wiz Khalifa at Intrust

Powerhouse Jam II will be rocking Intrust Bank Arena on Thursday thanks to sponsor Power 93.5. Headliner Wiz Khalifa, the 2012 Billboard Music Awards Top New Artist, will take the stage along with special guests Yo Gotti, Kevin Gates, Luke Nasty and others. The concert, a hip-hop and rap combo, is the second ever Powerhouse Jam at Intrust.

Concert at the Barn

An evening of multi-genre masterpieces will be held Sunday at Chamber Music at the Barn. The night will be filled with violin and piano duets that will cover music from Bach to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Grammy-nominated fiddler Matt Combs is teaming up with Nate Strasser, pianist and composer, for the evening of classic songs, film scores, fiddle tunes and much more.

Legends in Concert at Kansas Star

Legends in Concert, voted the No.1 tribute show in Las Vegas, will be in the Wichita area this weekend at the Kansas Star Events Center. The show, known for its elaborate theatrical sets and costumes, has been running for more than 30 years and is one of the longest-running shows in Las Vegas history.

Carpenter Place Car Show

Carpenter Place is holding its fifth annual Restoration Ride and Car Show on Saturday, welcoming car enthusiasts to come support the girls of Carpenter Place and check out some classic cars. The event will include lunch, motorcycle rides, a car show and trophy presentation. Registration is still open and fees include a T-shirt, lunch, drinks and an opportunity for prizes.

Jackiem Joyner at Bradley Fair

Bradley Fair will be filled with the up-tempo tunes of saxophonist Jackiem Joyner on Thursday as a part of the Summer Concert Series. Joyner, a Turkish contemporary jazz artist, has released five albums and keeps his sax styling fresh and upbeat, mixing in new sounds and styles often. Joyner has worked with Grammy-nominated Gerald Albright and has multiple songs reaching No. 1 on Billboard.
