Craig Ferguson, Big Smo and Vintage Vinyl
Craig Ferguson at the Oprheum
Late-night talk how host Craig Ferguson will perform on Friday at the Orpheum Theatre, 200 N. Broadway. Ferguson has been the host of CBS’s “The Late, Late Show” since 2005, though he’s stepping down in December. (He’ll be replaced by British comedian James Corden.) Ferguson also hosts a syndicated game show called “Celebrity Name Game.” Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show is at 8 p.m. Tickets to his show are $45 and $55 at the Intrust Bank Arena box office, at Select-A-Seat outlets, by calling 316-755-7328 or at www.selectaseat.com.
Big Smo at the Cotillion
Country rap performer Big Smo, whose real name is John Lee Smith, will perform on Friday at the Cotillion, 200 N. Broadway. His debut album, “Kuntry Livin’,” was released this year, and he’s also featured on an A&E reality series called “Big Smo,” where he’s labeled “the King of hick hop.” Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 the day of the show. They’re available at www.thecotillion.com or by calling 316-722-4201.
Vintage Vinyl at Abode
Last year’s “Vintage Vinyl” event at Abode Venue was such a hit that organizers are doing it again on Friday. A vinyl swap-meet kicks things off at the venue, 1330 E. Douglas, from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday, where music fans can buy, sell or trade records. After that, Team Ferrigno – DJ Carbon & Justin Skratch – takes the stage to spin records until 1 a.m. They won’t use any computers or CDs – just vinyl, which should please purists. Admission is $10 for ages 18-21, $5 for over 21. Drink specials will be offered. For more information, visit www.abodevenue.com.
