Grammy-nominated rapper Slick Rick, also know as Rick the Ruler and Ricky Dee, will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at Abode Venue, 1330 E. Douglas. The British rapper is best known for his 1985 hit “La Di Da Di.” Doors open at 8 p.m., and attendees must be 18 or older. Tickets are $20 in advance at naymlis.ticketleap.com.

Rosanne Cash at Hutchinson’s Fox

Singer and Grammy nominee Rosanne Cash, the famous daughter of Johnny Cash, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Hutchinson’s Fox Theatre, 18 E. First Ave. Cash has 21 top-40 country singles on her resume, including “Never Be You” and “Runaway Train.” Her most recent album is called “The River & the Thread.” Tickets to the show are $65, $60 and $55 at www.hutchinsonfox.com.

‘Pina’ screening at Wichita Center for the Arts

On Wednesday, the Wichita Center for the Arts is putting on a one-time screening of the Academy Award-nominated documentary “Pina,” which features former native Kansan Eddie Martinez. The full-length film by Wim Wenders is about the great German choreographer Pina Bausch, who died in 2009. Martinez, who was raised in Kansas and is a 1989 recipient of a Koch Cultural Trust Fellowship to study dance, will present the film and take questions. The event starts at 6 p.m. with light hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, and the movie starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are free.
