Arlo Guthrie to play the Orpheum
Folk singer Arlo Guthrie has relearned his 18-minute-long musical monologue “Alice’s Restaurant” to perform during a tour of its 50th anniversary. And Wichita’s Orpheum Theatre will be one stop on the tour, with Guthrie coming to town Feb. 13, 2016.
Guthrie, now 68, recorded the song in 1965 at the beginning of his career. He will perform it at each stop on the tour along with songs from each full-length studio album he has recorded since “Alice’s Restaurant,” which also was made into a movie.
Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show will be $45 to $85 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday online at www.selectaseat.com, by phone at 855-755-7328, and in person at the Intrust Bank Arena and other Select-a-Seat outlets.
