Return of Mike Coykendall, Wishbone Ash at the Crown, ICT Fest continues
Mike Coykendall at Barleycorn’s
Musician Mike Coykendall, a native of Norwich who now lives in Portland, Ore., has two concerts coming up in Wichita, and the first one is Saturday at Barleycorn’s, 608 E. Douglas. Coykendall, who has worked and recorded with well-known artists like M. Ward, Blitzen Trapper, She & Him, Annalisa Tornfelt and Tin Hat Trio, is touring in support of his fourth solo record, “Half Past, Present Pending.” Local musician Nikki Moddelmog will join him for his Saturday show, which starts at 9 p.m. Admission is $5. Coykendall will be back in Wichita on Oct. 12 for a 7 p.m. performance at Kirby’s Beer Store, 3227 E. 17th St.
Wishbone Ash at Crown Uptown
Wishbone Ash, a British rock band popular in the 1970s – and one of the first bands to employ twin lead guitars – will perform at Wichita’s Crown Uptown, 3207 E. Douglas, on Saturday. The show starts at 7 p.m., and tickets are $20 for general admission, $50 for VIP general admission and $250 for a four-person VIP booth. They’re available at https://naymlis.ticketleap.com.
ICT Fest continues through Saturday
The ICT Fest, a multi-day concert that started Thursday, continues through the weekend at El Vaquero Family and Friends, 1320 E. Central. The festival features 45 bands, all local and regional, with names like Bridgegeist, Bummer, Darjeeling, World Palestine and Mr. and the Mrs. Tickets are $20 for a three-day pass or $12 each day and are available at www.eventbrite.com/. Children 12 and under will be admitted free. The music will play from 5 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. Funky Monkey Munchies food truck will serve food, and there will be a cash bar.
