Three Halloween parties for grownups

Botanica’s Ghoulish Gala

This new event on Friday at Botanica is for adults only and aims to raise money for the installation of the Joyland merry-go-round, which was donated to the venue. The event, which will feature original Joyland decor, will include a costume contest, dinner, drinks, fortune telling and dancing. Attendees also can purchase tickets to play games, take a Clydesdale horse hayrack ride and buy martini glasses that can be refilled throughout the night. The party is from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Botanica, 701 Amidon. Tickets are $50, $40 for members. The costume contest features a $200 prize for the best couples costume and $100 for the best single costume.

Boo & Brew Bash

This is the 13th year for Dress for Success’ Boo & Brew Bash, an adult costume party that starts at 8 p.m. Friday at Venue 3130, 3130 W. Central. The party will have a Dia de los Muertos theme and will include a costume contest, a silent auction, food and drink and music by Annie Up. Tickets are $75 at http://www.booandbrew.org/. Proceeds benefit Dress for Success.

‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’

The Orpheum Theatre at 200 N. Broadway is putting on an interactive screening of the cult classic “Rocky Horror Picture Show” at 11:59 p.m. Friday. Doors open at 11 p.m., and attendees are encouraged to dress as Brad, Janet, Frankie or their favorite Transylvanian. Participation kits will be sold for $4, and no outside props will be allowed.
