Carnegie concert series
Lunchtime concerts on Wednesdays in September will be part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the dedication of the Wichita Carnegie Library building at 220 S. Main. Carrie Nation and the Speakeasy will kick off the series from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday in Heritage Square off William Street, behind the Carnegie. The concert series is a partnership between Fidelity Bank, whose commercial banking division is now in the Carnegie, and the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum next door. The eve of ‘Archmage’
Author R.A. Salvatore will be in Wichita on Monday to read and sign the newest book in his Drizzt series, “Archmage.” The fantasy novel comes out Tuesday, but those who attend the Watermark-sponsored event Monday at Abode Venue will receive their copy a bit early. Tickets are $28.95 plus tax, which includes a copy of the book. Doors at 1330 E. Douglas open at 5 p.m., and there will be a cash bar. Bridal swap and shop
Past brides selling their leftover wedding decor, new and used wedding dresses, wedding vendors and artisans will be part of a new type of bridal fair, Put a Ring On It, on Saturday at Venue 332 inside the Scottish Rite Center at 332 E. First St. Brides-to-be will be able to make purchases during the event, sponsored by 2nd 2 None Consignment of Andover. Tickets are $6.95 in advance, or $10.95 to get in two hours early (10 a.m.), at www.2nd2noneconsign.com, or $10 at the door. Hours are noon to 6 p.m.
