Ophil reunites, ICT Fest begins and Migos play a makeup date
Ophil at Brickyard
The “classic” lineup of longtime Wichita band Ophil will reunite for a show at the Brickyard, 129 N. Rock Island, on Saturday night. The band, which originally formed in Winfield in 1994, is led by local bar owner Alex Thomas, and the show will feature the return of Shane Marler, Justin Stockebrand and Brian Ashcraft. The show also will feature openers Brody Buster Band and Divorce Corpse. The show starts at 10 p.m., and admission is $5.
ICT Fest 2015
Thursday is the opening day for ICT Fest, a three-day, 45-band music festival at El Vaquero Family and Friends, 1320 E. Central. The performers are all local and regional and include names like Bridgegeist, Bummer, Darjeeling, World Palestine and Mr. and the Mrs. Tickets are $20 for a three-day pass or $12 each day and are available at www.eventbrite.com/. Children 12 and under will be admitted free. The music will play from 5 p.m. to midnight Thursday, Sept. 4 and Sept. 5. Funky Monkey Munchies food truck will serve food, and there will be a cash bar.
Migos at Cotillion
Atlanta-based hip-hop group Migos, originally scheduled to appear in Wichita in July, will be onstage at the Cotillion, 11121 W. Kellogg, on Wednesday. The group’s lineup includes an uncle and his nephew, and its most recognizable hit is “Versace.” Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show is at 8. Tickets purchased for the original show can be used on Wednesday. Otherwise, they are $25 in advance, $30 the day of the show.
