Costume party/rave at the Crown

A costume party/rave called Masquerave at Crown Uptown, 3207 E. Douglas, on Friday will feature Reid Speed, a female DJ known as a pioneer of the bass music movement, and RUN DMT, another high-profile DJ. Doors for the show, which is open to ages 16 and older, open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20. Attendees will get blinkies and glowies, and lighting will be provided by Death Crib Entertainment. Mr. and Miss Pride Pageant

Mr. and Miss Pride Wichita will be named during a fundraising pageant set for Wednesday at Rain Cafe and Lounge, 518 E. Douglas. The pageant starts at 8 p.m., and admission is $3 at the door. Those who wish to compete should check in at 4 p.m. Ages 18 and older will be admitted. Proceeds will benefit Wichita Pride.

River City Rock Show features KingShifter

The River City Rock Show happens on Saturday at the Cotillion, 11127 W. Kellogg, and will feature headliner and local band KingShifter plus Shyner, The Banned, Big Red Horse and Skychief. Doors open at 6:45 p.m., and the show starts at 7. All ages will be admitted. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 the day of the show.
