Wichita Home Show returns with vendors, shopping, cooking demos, fun for kids

After a weekend of being cooped up in the house by cold temperatures and snow, Wichitans who want to venture outdoors will find plenty of things to do this weekend. Among the annual events on the calendar: the big home show at Century II.

Here’s a guide to some of the events happening in Wichita this weekend:

Annual home show

The Wichita Area Builders Association’s 2026 Home Show happens this weekend in Century II’s Expo and Convention Halls. The annual event features custom home builders and businesses selling roofing, siding and appliances. Attendees also can shop from vendors and see cooking demonstrations; on Sunday, there will be face painting and balloons for the kids. The show runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $14.55 for single-day adult passes or $23.75 for a multi-day pass. Snow Glow redo

Snow Glow, which has become an annual event in Wichita, was supposed to happen last weekend but was canceled because of weather. The Wichita Park & Recreation department will try again this weekend and has scheduled the event for 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday outside the Mid-America All-Indian Museum, 650 N. Seneca. It will offer sledding on snow made by Snow Bros Snowmakers plus music, food trucks and a fire pit. Tickets are $15 for ages 3 and older. People must pre-register for the event at bit.ly/ICTSnowGlow

Chicken noodle redo

Another event that was postponed because of last weekend’s weather was the 79th annual St. Paul’s United Methodist Chicken Noodle Dinner. Its makeup date is this Saturday at the church at 1356 N. Broadway. The drive-through-only dinner will offer meals of homemade chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw and desserts for $12 a person. People also will be able to purchase items individually. Organizers are asking drivers to enter the church parking lot from Topeka — and not from 13th or Broadway.

Kansas Day celebration

Kansas turned 165 on Thursday, and The Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum is throwing a Kansas Day party over the weekend. The event will start at 2 p.m. on Sunday and will be led by master of ceremonies Orin Friesen. Cowboy poet Scott Wiswell also will appear, as will musicians, including the Diamond W Wranglers, Jennylou and the Buckaroos, and The Home Rangers. Doors open at 1 p.m., and the program starts at 2 p.m. It’s free, and all ages are welcome. The party will also be streamed live on the museum’s Facebook page as seating is limited to 60.

Tom Petty Tribute

A Tom Petty tribute band called Insider, which makes frequent stops in Wichita, will return for a show on Friday at The Cotillion, 11125 W. Kellogg. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show will start at 8 p.m. Tickets are $23.40 at thecotillion.com. The group, which frequently performs across Oklahoma and Kansas, aims to recreate Tom Petty’s biggest hits, note-for-note.

Kansas Card Show

This weekend’s Kansas Card Show will happen from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Drury Plaza Hotel Broadview, 400 W. Douglas, and will feature more than 150 tables set up by collectors and vendors from across the region. They’ll be displaying and selling sports cards, Pokemon cards and trading card games. The show is family friendly, and admission is free. For details, visit kansascardshow.com
