Wichita: This weekend will be your last chance to enjoy 2025 holiday events
This weekend really will be the last to enjoy the remaining holiday activities still happening around town, including Illuminations at Botanica and Somewhere in Winter.
Below are details on both events’ final days, plus ideas about other places to have fun in Wichita this weekend:
Last chance for Illuminations
Illuminations 2025 is almost over at Botanica: Its last night is Saturday. The event, which fills the gardens at 701 Amidon each year with more than 2 million lights, will run both tonight and Saturday, and attendees must purchase tickets in advance for hourly timed entry slots that run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $19, $15 for members; $12 for children ages 3-12; free for children 2 and younger. Get them at botanica.org/illuminations
Last chance for Somewhere in Winter
Somewhere in Winter, the holiday event set up in downtown’s Coleman Lot that includes an outdoor ice rink, lots of rentable igloos and food trucks, is in its final days and will open for the last time on Sunday. The event runs from 4 to 9 p.m. tonight; from 1 to 9 p.m. on Saturday; and from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday. It’s free to enter the venue, which is accessible through the gates facing St. Francis. Dome show for BeBes
Exploration Place’s Dome Theater will debut a new show on Tuesday called “BeBe Symphonique.” Designed to entertain babies, the 33-minutes show will include gentle orchestral music with soft visuals projected onto a 60-foot screen. After the show, people can enjoy warm drinks and conversation. The shows are scheduled for 9 a.m. on Tuesday, on Jan. 13, on Jan. 20 and on Jan. 27. Admission is free for members, $10 for adults, free for children. Get tickets at exploration.org/event/bebe-symphonique/
WAM Nights
This weekend’s installment of WAM Nights, an every-Friday event at the Wichita Art Museum, 1400 Museum Blvd., will offer a chance for people to wind down from the holidays with a session called “Mindfulness Through Looking.” Led by yoga teacher Christince Vumai, the event will feature mindfulness activities and art immersion and will last from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday. The museum will be open until 9 p.m. Admission is free.
