Guitars once owned by famous Wichitans, including Joe Walsh, part of exhibit

It’s Halloween night, and lots of spooky fun will be happening all over town.

But what to do when November starts on Saturday? Following are some events happening around town after Halloween is over.

Famous electric guitars

Saturday-Nov. 16, Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum, 204 S. Main

The Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum will open an exhibit Saturday called “Wichita’s Guitar Heroes: Electric Guitars from the Museum’s Collection.” It will run through Nov. 16 and will allow visitors to get a look at electric guitars once owned by notable local musicians like the Eagles’ Joe Walsh, Bill Goffrier, Berry Harris, Ralph Krenzer, Clif Major, Pat McJimsey, Henry Walker, Johnny Western and more. The exhibit is timed to coincide with the VetsAid concert, which will be headlined by Walsh on Nov. 16 at Intrust Bank Arena. Anyone who has tickets to the concert will get free admission to the historical museum during November. The exhibit, in the museum’s second-floor west gallery, will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Admission is $5 for adults, $2 or children ages 6 -12 and free for 5 and under.

Bluegrass, Norway style

4 p.m. Sunday, Bartlett Arboretum, 301 N Line St., Belle Plaine

Hayde Bluegrass Orchestra from Norway will be the headliner at a concert on Sunday at Bartlett Arboretum’s weekly Treehouse Concert Series. The seven-piece band is led by Rebekka Nilson, an International Bluegrass Music Association award-winning vocalist. The group will be filming a music video during the arboretum concert. Tickets are $20 in advance at LinkTr.ee/bartlettarb and also can be purchased at the door. The gates will open at 3 p.m., and the show starts at 4 p.m. Local vendors will be onsite selling food, but picnics also are welcome.

Comedy at The ‘Choke

7:30 p.m. Saturday, Artichoke Sandwichbar East, 2959 N. Rock Road

Steve Hofstetter, a comedian who has more than 1 billion views on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, is on tour and is making a stop at Wichita’s Artichoke Sadnwichbar East. His standup show, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the restaurant, is open to ages 18 and over. Tickets are $38.38-$162.74 and are available at eventbrite.com

Dia De Los Muertos in Old Town

5 p.m. Saturday, Public at the Brickyard and Brickyard, 129 N. Rock Island

Old Town’s Brickyard bar will be the site of Saturday’s family-friendly Dia de los Muertos party, which will feature face painting starting at 5:30 p.m., music by Mariachi Los Reyes at 6 p.m. and tamales by Pinole Bue. The event will also feature two specialty cocktails, and proceeds from its sales will benefit the Kansas Hispanic Education & Development Foundation. The event will take place both indoors and outdoors. Admission is free.

Wichita’s Funniest Person contest

8 p.m. Friday, Solly & Jude’s, 400 S. Emporia

Who is Wichita’s Funniest Person? A contest to find out will launch on Friday. Wichita’s Funniest Person Contest, an event by ICT Comedy Productions, will have its qualifying rounds the first four Fridays of November at Solly & Jude’s, a sandwich restaurant and bar at 400 S. Emporia. The finals will be Saturday, Nov. 29, at Wave, 560 E. Second. Three performers will be chosen by audience applause each week to advance to the finals. Anyone who has not previously won the contest, who lives within 100 miles of Wichita and who is 18 or older can sign up to complete when doors open at 7 p.m. The show starts at 8 pm. Tickets are $10 at the door, and seating is first-come, first-served.

Market and food truck rally

10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Blood Orchard, 6436 S. Broadway

Blood Orchard at 6346 S. Broadway is putting on its monthly vintage market and Southside Food Truck Rally this weekend, and vendors will have items ready for early Christmas shoppers. The event lasts from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and will include vintage, rustic, shabby-chic and handmade items. It also will include food by several local food trucks. Admission is free.
