Feline fans will gather this weekend for Wichita’s big annual cat show
The big weekend for local feline fanatics has arrived. The Wichita Cat Fancy Show, which happens every February at the Cotillion, is back and will run Saturday and Sunday. The event will include lots of cat breeds to meet and booths to shop.
It’s not the only fun thing happening in Wichita this weekend, though. Keep reading to learn about the best bets for fun around town:
Fancy cats

Calling all cat fans: The Annual Wichita Cat Fancy Show will return to The Cotillion this weekend for its 2025 installment. The event will feature lots of different cat breeds on display, vendors selling cat merchandise, and cat costume contests. There will even be a competition for household cats. The event is put on by the Wichita Cat Fancy Club, and spectators are welcome. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for seniors, members of the military and children ages 5-12. Children 5 and under will be admitted free.
Hang out with Kelsey Grammer
Today-Saturday, several Wichita locations
Just a reminder that Kelsey Grammer will be in town this weekend, and you can meet him at one of his many stops around town. The actor, best known for his shows “Cheers” and “Frasier,” will be in Wichita through Saturday promoting his new partnership with Wichita Brewing Company, who will be brewing Grammer’s Faith American beer for distribution in Wichita. On Friday, he’ll be at Auburn Spirits, 13303 W. Maple, from 2 to 5 p.m. and at Old Chicago, 7626 E. Kellogg, from 6 to 9 p.m. Then on Saturday, he’ll be at Goebel Liquor, 352 S. West St., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; at The Anchor, 1109 E. Douglas, from 2 to 4 p.m.; and at Total Wine & Spirits, 2762 N. Greenwich Ct., from 5 to 9 p.m.
Annual home show

The Wichita Area Builders Association’s 2025 Home Show happens this weekend in Century II’s Expo and Convention Halls. The annual event features custom home builders and businesses selling roofing, siding and appliances. Attendees also can shop for gifts and CBD products, and there will be face painting and balloons for the kids. The show runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $12 for single-day adult passes or $20 for a multi-day pass. ‘Boujee on a Budget’
8 p.m. Sunday, Century II Concert Hall, 225 W. Douglas
Century II also will be home this weekend to a show by social media star and stand-up comedian Matt Mathews, who will bring his “Boujee on a Budget” tour to the Concert Hall on Sunday. Mathews’ act includes stories about his life on a farm, his career as a boudoir photographer and his relationships. Friday-night hootenanny
8 p.m. Friday, Odd Fellow Hall, 930 W. Douglas
Doug Daze of Winter is the title of a “hootenanny” that is set for 8 p.m. Friday at Odd Fellow Hall, the event venue on the second floor at 930 W. Douglas. The concert will feature a collection of folk-rock, alt-country and bluegrass acts including Grody Riggins, Dead End Strings, 80 Proof Alice and Miki P. Admission is $10 at the door. Attendees will have access to a full bar, food and plenty of seating. Doors open at 7 p.m.
Lowdown Drifters
8 p.m. Saturday, Wave, 650 E. Second St.
The Lowdown Drifters, a country/rock/Americana band out of Fort Worth, will be indoors at Wichita’s Wave venue for a concert on Saturday night. The band, led by trucker-turned-lead singer Big John Cannon, last year released an album called “In Time.” The show starts at 8 p.m., and doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 at www.waveict.com.
