Want to see ice skating celebs up close? You have until Sunday to catch them in Wichita
In case you hadn’t heard, Wichita will be full this weekend of ice skating celebrities, and your only chance to see them will be to buy a ticket to the The U.S. Figure Skating Championships, which will be staged through Sunday at Intrust Bank Arena.
Other excitement in town this weekend includes Kansas Day celebrations, the PRCA rodeo and the first Wichita Flea Market of the year.

Top skaters are in Wichita
Today-Sunday, Intrust Bank Arena, 500 E, Waterman
The hottest ticket in town this weekend will allow Wichita to see performers on ice. The U.S. Figure Skating Championships are at Wichita’s Intrust Bank Arena through Sunday, and those who buy tickets will get to watch some of the country’s top figure skaters and Olympic contenders in action. All-session, weekend and single-session tickets are available to purchase at selectaseat.com, by phone at 316-755-7328 or in person at the Select-A-Seat outlet inside Intrust Bank Arena. Tickets range from $18 for single-session tickets to $500 for weekend passes that include a Sunday-night Skate Spectacular.
Rodeo’s in town
Friday-Saturday, Park City Arena, 8151 N. Hartman Arena Drive, Park City
While Intrust Bank Arena’s floor is covered in ice, the Park City Arena’s floor will be covered in dirt for the 2025 PRCA Rodeo, which happens at 7:30 p.m. both Friday and Saturday nights. The rodeo will feature top contestants from across the country competing in bareback riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, bull riding and more. New WAM exhibit
Opening 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Wichita Art Museum, 1400 Museum Blvd.
The Wichita Art Museum’s first new exhibit of the new year opens Saturday and is titled “Anila Quayyum Agha: Interwoven.” The exhibit is a survey of two decades of the artist’s career and includes sculptures, installations, embroidery, paintings and drawings. The artist, originally from Lahore, Pakistan, addresses the experiences of immigrants and women in her work. Tickets for opening day, which will last from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., are $12 for adults, free for museum members, college students with ID and youth ages 18 and under. Stayin’ Alive
7:30 p.m. Saturday, Orpheum Theatre, 200 N. Broadway
Love the Bee Gees? Wichita’s Orpheum Theatre on Saturday will host a Bee Gees tribute band called Stayin’ Alive, which will deliver hits like “Night Fever,” “Jive Talkin’” and “How Deep is Your Love.” The show includes big-screen video clips and photos. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $24.50 to $64.50 at selectaseat.com, by phone at 316-755-7328 or in person at the Select-A-Seat outlet inside Intrust Bank Arena.
Kansas Day celebrations
Saturday and Sunday, various Wichita venues
The state of Kansas will turn 164 next week, and a couple of Wichita venues will celebrate the milestone this weekend. At the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum, the celebration will last from 2 to 3 p.m. on Sunday and will, as always, include songs led by Orin Friesen and other musical guests Doors open at 1 p.m., and the program starts at 2 p.m. It’s free, and all ages are welcome. Also, the Great Plains Nature Center will put on a Kansas Day party from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday that’s free for all ages and will include an “Agents of Discovery” mission.
Flea Market time
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Wichita Sports Forum, 2668 N. Greenwich
It’s Wichita Flea Market weekend again, and this time, the monthly market will be set up at Century II’s Exhibition Hall. The event will last from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. To 4 p.m. on Sunday. The market will feature 200 vendors selling things like antiques, crafts, collectibles, reclaimed items, comics, artwork, jewelry and toys. It also will feature a scavenger hunt where visitors will hunt for 20 snowflakes hidden throughout the building. Supergirl will make a visit from noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday, then Mary Poppins will pop in from noon to 1 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $4 for a one-day pass, $5 for a two-day pass. Children 12 and under get in free.
