Nostalgic for your high school homecoming? Aviation Museum event may be for you.

For adults who miss or missed out on their high school homecoming dances, a new event at the Kansas Aviation Museum will bring back a bit of that nostalgia.

And you won’t even need to secretly spike the punch.

“We’ll have bar services so that’s a little different than your high school homecoming,” said Jacky Goerzen, KAM’s business director who is helping organize the fundraiser benefiting the museum and ICT Farms.

The theme of the Saturday, Jan. 25, event is Winter Wonderland, which pays tribute to retro themes of past homecomings, according to event organizers.

In another retro nod, the drumline from Wichita North High School will kick off the event with a 7:20 p.m. performance.

Attendees “can dress as they would have in the ’70s, ’80s or ’90s or whatever they like,” Goerzen said.

DJ Carbon’s playlist will include a mix of music from past decades, she said.

“There will be something for all generations,” Goerzen said.

Tickets are $40; doors open at 7 p.m. A $65 VIP option will include a special homecoming court lounge, two drinks and early entry at 6:30 p.m.

“I talked to a guest the other day who didn’t get to go to prom so she’s excited (about attending). I love it when events can have those kinds of effects on people,” Goerzen said.
