Like ‘Pretty Woman’ the movie? See the musical version this weekend in Wichita
If you loved “Pretty Women” the movie, which starred Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, you might want to check out the musical version when it takes the stage Friday through Sunday at Century II.

“Pretty Woman” on stage

A musical version of the 1990s rom-com “Pretty Woman” will arrive in Wichita for four shows this weekend at Century II. The show is part of the Broadway in Wichita series and will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday; and 1 p.m. Sunday. It’s First Friday again
Friday, various Wichita art galleries
First Friday has come around again, and Wichita galleries are inviting art fans to visit opening-night receptions for various shows. One special event for January: A show called “Aggregation: A Coming Together of Wichita Artists” will open on Friday at Harvester Arts, which has a new home in The Lux, 120 E. First St. The show will highlight the diverse talent in Wichita’s arts community and feature many different mediums. Its opening reception is from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, then the show is on display from 5 to 9 p.m. Mondays, from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays; and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Three Kings Day
3-6 p.m. Saturday, Sedgwick County Extension Center, 7001 W. 21st St.
The Sedgwick County Extension Center will be the site of a Three Kings Day celebration, which will include live camels. The event is designed to highlight a day celebrated by Hispanic cultures that is focused on the story of the three wise men who visited the baby Jesus. Wichita’s celebration will last from 3 to 6 p.m. at the center and will feature the three kings with their camels plus Colombian food for sale, crafts and dancing. Admission is free.
Country music Saturday
7 p.m. Saturday, Wichita Union Stockyards, 6521 W. MacArthur Road
Fort Worth-based performer Summer Dean will be the featured performer on Saturday at the Wichita Union Stockyards. Dean, who was recently named Texas Country Music Awards Female Artist of the Year, is a singer/songwriter whose songs include “Yes Ma’am” and “He Found Me in a Honky Tonk.” The show starts at 7 p.m. Advance tickets are $15, and tickets at the door are $20. Tay Tay in ’25
8 p.m. Thursday, Wave, 650 E. Second St.
Taylor Swift fans can start the year with a group dance party in Wichita. Wave, the music venue at Second and St. Francis, is putting on an event called “Tay Tay Dance party” on Thursday. It starts at 8 p.m., and the doors open at 7 p.m. It will be led by The DJ Swiftie and is open to all ages. Last chance for Toytopia
Through Thursday, Exploration Place, 300 N. McLean
Wichita’s last chance to catch Toytopia at Exploration Place is nearing: The traveling exhibit will close on Thursday. It features the world’s largest Etch A Sketch, a life-sized Monopoly car, vintage arcade games, a large Lego wall, a life-size doll house and more. It’s open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
