Sole Purpose 2 at Abode

Sneaker aficionados get a chance to show off – and add to – their collections at the sneaker expo Sole Purpose 2, which takes place from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at Abode Venue, 1330 E. Douglas. Each attendee can bring up to three pairs of shoes to sell or trade, and there will be at least 20 tables full of sneaker displays. The event will also include food trucks, a DJ and giveaways. Tickets are $10 in advance at eventbrite.com or Mathematics, 630 E. Douglas; they’re $12 at the door.

Summerland Tour features Everclear and more

The Orpheum stage will be home on Wednesday to the fourth annual Summerland Tour, featuring a bill of 1990s rock bands – Everclear, Toadies, Fuel and American Hi-Fi. Headliners Everclear are known for hits like “Father of Mine” and “Wonderful.” The show starts at 8 p.m. The tour was started by Everclear singer/guitarist Art Alexakis and in the past has included acts like Soul Asylum, Eve 6 and Gin Blossoms, Marcy Playground and Live. Tickets are $40, $45, $49 and $150 and are available at www.selectaseat.com, by phone at 316-755-7328, at the Intrust Bank Arena box office and at Select-A-Seat outlets.

Book signing at Watermark

Kristin and Jonathan Conard will appear at Watermark Books & Cafe, 4701 E, Douglas, at 1 p.m. Saturday to present and sign copies of their illustrated book, “Kansas Trail Guide: The Best Hiking, Biking and Riding in the Sunflower State” ($32.44, University Press of Kansas). The book includes maps, route descriptions, and the best trails for families and solo travelers.
