What to do in Wichita this weekend: Go to the drive-in, see belly-dancers, visit dinos
It’s the first weekend in March, and in Wichita, people looking for fun things to do can enjoy the warmer weather with a trip to the drive-in, which has opened for the season.
They also could commune with lifelike dinosaurs or even take in a belly dancing show.
Here are a few of the activities happening around town this weekend and into next week:
‘The Batman’ at the drive-in
Friday through Sunday, Starlite Drive-In, 3900 S. Hydraulic
Wichita’s Starlite Drive-In opened a little early this year specifically so it would be ready in time for the big debut of the movie “The Batman.” The two-screen drive-in, which officially opened for the season last weekend, will show that film on its second screen at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday followed by “Godzilla vs. Kong.” Its other screen will feature “Encanto” at 7:30 p.m. followed by “Sing 2” at 9:15 p.m. Tickets are $9 for ages 12 and up or $4 for kids at starlitefun.com. The drive-in will continue a Friday-through-Sunday schedule until mid-May, when it will switch to seven days a week through the summer.
