Country singer who sparked controversy earlier this year announces tour stop in Wichita
A country star who faced backlash after a video of him shouting a racial slur was released last February is launching a new tour, and Wichita will be one of the stops.
Morgan Wallen, a chart-topping singer whose hits include “Whiskey Glasses” and “Chasin’ You,” announced his new “Dangerous Tour” on Monday morning. He’ll perform at Intrust Bank Arena on Aug. 25, 2022.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Dec. 3. Prices have not yet been announced.
The controversial video, published by TMZ, depicted Wallen shouting a racial slur in Nashville. Radio programmers pulled his songs, and he was disinvited from awards shows. He’s been working on a comeback ever since and has said that the incident was fueled by alcohol. He later checked himself into a rehab facility, he said.
His opening acts at the show will be Hardy and Larry Fleet.
Tickets will be available by calling 316-755-7328, at selectaseat.com or in person at the Select-A-Seat box office at Intrust Bank Arena.
