What to do in Wichita this weekend: Pet Palooza, SmackDown and lots of live music

All are on the calendar in Wichita this weekend. If you’re looking for something to do, here are some suggestions:
Time for a SmackDown
6:45 p.m. Friday, Intrust Bank Arena, 500 E. Waterman
WWE’s SmackDown is coming to Intrust Bank Arena this weekend and will feature fan favorites Roman Reigns, Bianca Belair, Sasha Banks and more. The wrestlers will be competing to be the SmackDown champion, and the competition will be aired live at 7 p.m. on FOX. The doors will open at 5:15 p.m. and the show will start at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Ticket prices range from $20 to $100 and can be purchased at the Select-A-Seat box office inside Century II, at selectaseat.com or by calling 316-755-7328.
Blackberry Smoke in concert
8 p.m. Sunday, The Cotillion, 11120 W. Kellogg
Atlanta rock band Blackberry Smoke will be performing at the Cotillion on Sunday as a part of its “You Hear Georgia Tour.” The group will be playing songs from its best-selling album “Find A Light.” Doors for the concert will open at 7 p.m., and the show will start at 8 p.m. Tickets are $27 and can be purchased at thecotillion.com. All ages are welcome.
Pet Palooza
11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Wichita Art Museum, 1400 W. Museum Blvd.
This month’s Family ArtVenture at the Wichita Art Museum will be all about dogs. Visitors can bring their dogs to “Pet Palooza” on Saturday and participate in outdoor activities, enjoy food from local food trucks, and take part in art projects for both pets and owners. The Wichita Children’s Theatre and Dance Center will be putting on two performances at the event: “Where the Wild Things Are” and “Sleeping Beauty.” There will also be jazz by The Jonah Craker Quintet, and the Kansas Humane Society will be there with a make-it-take-it dog tag project. The ArtVenture will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the museum. Admission is free, but only humans will be allowed inside the museum.
Early Mozart
7:30 p.m. Saturday, Miller Concert Hall, Duerksen Fine Arts Center, Wichita State University
Wichita State University Opera Theatre is putting on a performance of “La Finta Giardiniera,” an early Mozart masterpiece that he composed at age 18. Singers will be accompanied by the Wichita State University Wind Ensemble, and the show will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Miller Concert Hall in the Duerksen Fine Arts Center. Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, military, or WSU staff. Children and student tickets are $10. Dinosaurs after dark
7 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Field Station Dinosaurs, 2999 N. Rock Road, Derby
Field Station Dinosaurs in Derby is hosting a spooky event called “Dinosaurs After Dark” on Fridays and Saturdays throughout October. Guests are invited to go on a quest to find the cause of the paranormal activity happening at Field Station. There will be songs, activities and take-home treats. The event runs from 7 to 9 p.m. every Friday and Saturday night until October 30. Tickets are “pay your age” with a maximum of $12, or $10 for members. Ticket sales end each night at 8:15 p.m.
Latin Jazz
7:30 p.m. Friday, Riney Fine Arts Center, Friends University, 2100 W. University Ave.
The Friends University Conjunto Latino Jazz Band will be playing Friday with special guests Tumbao, a local salsa band, for a concert called “A Night of Latin Jazz.” The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Sebits Auditorium in the Riney Fine Arts Center. Spoken word
6 p.m. Sunday, Wichita Art Museum, 1400 W. Museum Blvd.
The Wichita Art Museum, 1400 W. Museum Blvd., will be hosting “Ponder This: Spoken Word Performance” on Sunday, and it will feature several spoken word artists taking turns presenting their original pieces. The performances will start at 6 p.m. at the Wichita Art Museum. Tickets are $15 for the public and $10 for Wichita Art Museum members. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
