Three places to take Dad this Father’s Day weekend

Botanica
Botanica, 701 Amidon, is holding a Kite Fest from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Dads get in free, and it’s $5 for everyone else. There will be face painting, music, food trucks, carnival rides and, of course, kites. You can buy one or fly your own, and a synchronized kite show will be held. Sedgwick County Zoo
Over at the Sedgwick County Zoo, the family can enjoy a car show on Sunday. Check out the classic cars on display or explore the animal exhibits. Dads are admitted free with a paying child. The event happens from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 5555 Zoo Blvd. Admission rates are $8.95 for ages 3-11, $13.95 for adults (ages 12-61) and $11.95 for seniors. Kansas Aviation Museum
The Kansas Aviation Museum’s Play on a Plane day is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors will be able to tour various planes or see what sitting in a cockpit feels like. Almost all the planes on the museum’s ramp will be open. Admission is $8.95 for adults, $7.95 (ages 65-plus), $6.95 for ages 4-12 and free for ages 3 and under. The museum is at 3350 S. George Washington Blvd.
