Diamond Rio and Restless Heart in Andover, King Lil G at the Cotillion, outdoor summer concerts
Diamond Rio headlines Andover concert in the park
Country groups Restless Heart and Diamond Rio will perform at Andover’s third-annual free concert in the park, scheduled for Saturday in Andover’s Central Park, 1607 E. Central. The event starts with a People’s Choice Barbecue Competition, which will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Tasting kits are $5. The concert starts at 7 p.m. Admission is free, but concertgoers must have wristbands, which are available at local businesses including Parks Motors of Augusta and Collision Center of Andover, 948 Andover Road. Radio stations 97.1 BOB-FM and 100.5 the Wolf also will be giving away wristbands on air up until the show. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. They also can buy food at a food court that will include several restaurants, including Papa John’s, Rita’s Italian Ice and Meddys.
King Lil G and co. at the Cotillion
The Cotillion at 11120 W. Kellogg is offering another rap and hip-hop concert, this one featuring headliner King Lil G along with MC Magic, Lucky Luciano and Brown Boy. King Lil G is a Los Angeles-based artist who raps about his own life struggles and experiences. Doors open at 7 p.m. Saturday, and the show will be at 8 p.m. It’s open to all ages. Summer concerts all over town
Outdoor summer concert series continue at venues all over Wichita this week. NewMarket Square’s Twilight Thursday will feature A Terra Plana, a Brazilian band, starting at 7:30 p.m. Also on Thursday, Bradley Fair at 21st and Rock will have jazz saxophonist Jeff Kashiwa at 7:30 p.m. Admission to those concerts is free. Botanica’s weekly Tuesdays on The Terrace, which starts at 5:30 p.m., has Pop & the Boys on Tuesday, and admission is $7.
