Wichita will star in another HGTV ‘House Hunters’ episode, which airs later this week
If you need a pandemic distraction, this news from HGTV couldn’t come at a better time.
On Thursday, a new episode of “House Hunters” will air on HGTV featuring houses — and a couple — from Wichita.
The network offered the following description of the episode, which will air at 6 p.m. central time and is titled “Getting Started in Wichita.”
“Music professors are looking to settle down near his new job in Wichita, Kansas. She wants their first house to be a big Victorian that’s perfect for over-the-top Christmas decor, but he wants to keep things simple with a turnkey home.”
The Christy Needles Team of Berkshire Hathaway shared earlier this week that agents from their business would be featured on the show with house buyers Robert and Lara Brooks. Robert is an assistant professor of saxophone and the director of jazz studies at Friends University. Lara is a soprano opera singer who teaches at Washburn University.
Over the summer, “House Hunters” was in town filming at the Noble House, an 1888 Victorian home at 1230 N. Waco that was once a bed and breakfast. It seems likely that house will be included on the episode.
A spokesperson for HGTV said she could not reveal any additional details about the episode, but the owner of Common Grounds Coffee House at 2812 E. Douglas was allowed to say that his business might be included in a scene.
Wichita’s first-ever “House Hunters” appearance was back in November 2018, when the network featured an episode with Wichita transplants Alex Novotny and Christopher Roberson.
