Barleycorns reopens, Steve Miller performs, Radkey rocks

Barleycorns reopens with double bill

The bar formerly known as John Barleycorn’s at 608 E. Douglas will reopen on Thursday as Barleycorns with a double bill. Local country/rock band Comfort Review will perform, as will local band The Haymakers. The event starts at 8 p.m., and admission is $5. Attendees must be 21 or older. The bar has been closed since early March.

Steve Miller Band at Hartman Arena

The Steve Miller Band, most famous for the hit “The Joker,” will perform at Hartman Arena on Thursday. The band, led and managed by Miller, formed in San Francisco in the late 1960s and also was responsible for hits including “Abracadabra,” “Take the Money and Run,” “Space Cowboy,” “Keep on Rockin’ Me Baby” and “Fly Like an Eagle.” The opening act will be Wichita native Kara Hesse, who performs blues, classic rock and folk. The show is at 7 p.m., and doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $43.50 to $96.50 and are available at www.ticketmaster.com, by phone at 800-745-3000 or at the Hartman Arena Box Office, 8151 Hartman Arena Drive in Park City.

Radkey rocks Rock Island Live

Rock band Radkey, a band made up of three brothers from St. Joseph, Mo., will perform at 9 p.m. Thursday at Rock Island Live, 101 Rock Island. The group formed in 2010 and since has played at festivals including SXSW and Coachella. The opening band is Divorce Corpse. Tickets are $10 for people 21 and older or $15 for those under 21.
