Tornado Bait at Shamrock Lounge
The 13th annual Tornado Bait party at the Shamrock Lounge, 1724 W. Douglas, starts at 11 a.m. Saturday, when the bar opens for free pool, shuffleboard and darts, plus muffins and coffee in the morning. The bar also will offer a snack in the afternoon and a pig roast at 6 p.m. Live music starts at 2 p.m., and the act changes every two hours through 10 p.m., with Eric Ramos at 2 p.m., Rosco del Rio at 4 p.m., Tom Page Trio with Bill Garrison at 6 p.m., Sloan Tash Band at 9 p.m., and Katy Guillen and the Girls at 10 p.m. Admission is $10.
Bands at Crown Uptown and the Cotillion
Indie rock band Balance and Composure will perform at Crown Uptown, 3207 E. Douglas, on Thursday. The band was formed in Doylestown, Pa., and has two albums including the latest, “The Things We Think We’re Missing.” Tickets for the 7 p.m. show are $12 at eventbrite.com.
Frequent Wichita performers Jackson Taylor & the Sinners will perform their honky-tonk style of music Friday at the Cotillion. Chad Sullins & the Last Call Coalition and Jason Callahan Band will open the show. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8. Tickets are $15 at the door. Musical weekend in Wichita
It’s a big weekend for live music in Wichita bars. At Lizards Lounge, 300 S. Greenwich, rock band Lionize will headline a Friday show that also includes music activist and blues rocker Meghann Wright plus The Delta Saints and Big Red Horse. The 21-and-over show starts at 7 p.m., and tickets are $12. On the same night, rock band Stallion will perform at the Brickyard, 129 N. Rock Island. Admission is $5, and the music will start at 9 p.m.
