Sunflower Cluster of Dog Shows

Dogs will be taking part in activities such as conformation, obedience, agility, lure coursing, herding, hunting and AKC Canine Good Citizen testing this weekend as the all-breed Sunflower Cluster of Dog Shows comes to the Kansas Pavilions. More than 1,500 dogs representing about 130 breeds will be at the show, which started Thursday and runs through Monday. Some events will only be taking place Saturday and/or Sunday. Hours for the show are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday and Monday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free. The show will also feature vendors, a junior handler competition and Art Show at the Dog Show, a national juried exhibition of canine-related art. The Kansas Pavilions are at 85th Street North and I-135 in Park City. For more information, call 316-744-0057.

A locally grown Easter

You can pick up locally grown food for your Easter dinner when the Kansas Grown Farmers Market opens for the season Saturday at 21st and Ridge Road. The market expects about 60 vendors this weekend selling meats including grass-fed beef, poultry, pork and lamb; fresh eggs; early-season produce including radishes, green onions, lettuce, spinach and hothouse tomatoes; and baked goods. Other foods as well as plants and crafted goods also will be for sale. Hours are 7 a.m. to noon. Get more information at kansasgrowninc.com.

Tulips, Fairies & Forts at Botanica

Tulips, Fairies & Forts returns to Botanica, 701 Amidon, every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. through April 18. Play games, make crafts and see forts and tulips. There’s also a bounce house, fairy competition and storytime every Saturday. This Saturday, you can also learn about bugs from The Bug Lady from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, go to botanica.org. Admission is free with membership or $7 for adults and $5 for kids ages 3-12.
