Grateful Dead tribute at Abode
Grateful Dead tribute band The Schwag out of St. Louis is putting on a show on Saturday at Abode Venue, 1330 E. Douglas. Its opening act is Moonlight Drive, a Doors Tribute Band. Moonlight Drive will go on at 8 p.m., and The Schwag will start around 9:30 p.m. Audiences also will see a large light show. Tickets, which are $12, will be available at the door. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. The show is open to ages 18 and older.
Monophonics at the Crown
Monophonics, the soul/funk band that features Kelly Finnigan, son of local favorite Mike Finnigan, will perform at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Crown Uptown. The group is touring in support of its new album, “Sound of Sinning,” due out later this month. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and the music starts at 6:30 p.m. The event will also feature food and drink specials. General admission tickets are $15 in advance at www.brownpapertickets.com. They’ll be $20 cash the day of the show.
JB and the Moonshine Band at the Cotillion
JB and the Moonshine Band, a group that hails from east Texas, will bring its outlaw country music to the Cotillion, 11120 W. Kellogg, on Saturday. The opening act will be Lucas Maddy & the Jagged Edge. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show is at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance or $18 the day of the show.
